Trailer Showcase

We put some our footage together for the first time so that we could showcase it to our class. This was a great way  to receive feedback from our class on how we could improve our production by re-filming a few scenes due to lighting issues. Here are a few comments:

"Your cutaways are a nice addition"
"I like the way you had the same shot from different angles"
"You had a good variety of shots from different angles"
"The bed scene was a bit too dark, it was hard to establish what was going on because we couldn't"

Production Logo Construction

1. Added in a gradient background to give the content some context. A black background would be too plain in comparison to real life examples who generally have a lot of content.

2. To add to the background content I have added some flying metal sparks to fly around the background to make the scene look busier.

3. I've precomposed my logo so that I can easily make modifications to the composition and helping remove some of the layer limitations.

4. I've added this metallic effect to the logo to help enhance the visual effect of the logo.

5. I know I want some sort of fire effect so I start to add an orange tint to the logo which will then show though more when more layers start to get put on top of it.

6. After a whole bunch of adjustment layers and layer style modifications we can see it starting to look like that but the logo is still static as of yet.

7. Here you can see me adding in the animation keyframes which will put the logo into motion.

8. Here you can see the effect of the animations, I want this effect where the logo burns into place as it were.

9. Here I'm adding in some complex particle physics to create this fire effect without having to manipulate real footage, you can see this being set on the left hand side of the screen in the effects control panel.

10. I'm adding the final touches here and just preparing it for a final render which is estimated to take 20 hours.
